Running Linux on Windows
Have you heard about linux? Do you want to give it a try but don't want to mess with your existing windows computer? You could try out linux by using a live cd (a cd with the linux operating system on it). Linux then runs from the cd and doesn't touch your existing windows programs on the hard disk. You can download linux live cds from the internet, just do a search on linux live cd or read this article for a list and a review of how to run a live cd. Just be aware that running linux from a cd is slow compared to running from a hard disk.
A better method is to run linux in a virtual computer on your current windows computer. To do this you need a processor speed of at least 1 gig hertz, 256 megs of memory and several gigs of free disk space. So if you want to set up and run a virtual computer, just read and follow this how to article Linux for the supernewbie.
